Working closely with managers and interdisciplinary teams, you’ll design and implement evidence-based training programs and in-services that meet state and federal guidelines while fostering excellence in end-of-life care.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities – Hospice Nurse Educator
Develop and lead hospice orientation, clinical training, and ongoing education for nursing and clinical staff
Collaborate with managers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure training aligns with regulatory standards and best practices
Conduct skills labs, field assessments, and preceptor training to support staff development and mentorship
Track training completion, competencies, and CE programs to ensure compliance
Serve as a clinical resource, support ANCC Nurse Planner duties, and mentor students in practicum placements
Maintain updated educational content, class schedules, and patient education materials
Support quality initiatives, certification attainment, and contribute to clinical excellence through active committee involvement
Assist with CPR training, vaccine clinics, and employee health needs
Foster a culture of learning, professionalism, and compassionate hospice care
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Hospice Nurse Educator position will have the following qualifications:
BSN required; Master’s degree preferred
3 years of hospice experience preferred
3 years of experience as a Clinical Educator preferred
Knowledge of hospice regulations and standards preferred
Familiarity with HomeCare HomeBase/PointCare a plus
Excellent teaching and computer skills
Strong organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Computer use, teaching environment
