What are the responsibilities and job description for the PR Analytics Internship position at VisitPITTSBURGH?

The organization generates positive economic impact across the tourism verticals of business events, sports, and leisure travel. VisitPITTSBURGH achieves its goals, including ensuring the region has certain economic benefits through the combined efforts of all team members throughout the organization.
The VisitPITTSBURGH PR Analytics & Strategy Intern will gain an understanding of how PR is measured and how to apply trends to maintain an always-on PR approach via the following key tasks:
Essential Functions
· Publicity tracking and reporting
· Industry news monitoring
· Drafting recaps for the communications team’s monthly news digest, case studies, post-mortem campaign reports, etc.
· Shadowing PR team during other misc. daily activities
Skills & Specifications
- Detail-oriented, organized and proactive
- Strong research and communication skills
- Highly interested in gaining insight into data-driven PR and integrated brand strategy
- Familiar with digital trends, including within the traditional media landscape, social media and influencer marketing
- Experience with Microsoft Suite and PR tracking tools is a plus
Qualifications
· Students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program from an accredited college or university and are pursuing the following academic majors or minors are preferred: hospitality, tourism, communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, business, digital marketing, economics or information technology
· Availability to work 21 hours per week for 13 weeks
· Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
