Visscher Construction & Restoration is a growing, family-owned construction company located in West Michigan. We focus on Residential building as well as some Commercial work, including: new builds, additions, exteriors, and insurance mitigation & restoration.
Job Overview
The Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles and construction equipment, ensuring they are always in top working condition. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues on a variety of machines such as trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment used on job sites. Additionally, the Mechanic will establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all equipment to maximize efficiency and prevent breakdowns. The role also requires organizing and upholding the 5S standards in the shop, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and well-stocked with essential tools and supplies. The Mechanic will also be required to make deliveries from the shop to job sites as necessary. They must demonstrate a strong work ethic, punctuality, and be equipped with their own basic tools. The right candidate will be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and enforce all health and safety standards.

- Motor vehicle report (we require proof of a valid driver’s license and will review past driving records)
- Candidate must also have reliable transportation to and from work

Role-Specific Requirements (Mechanic)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Ability to conduct numerous mechanical repairs such as engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, hydraulic maintenance, electrical system troubleshooting, and oil changes
- Proficiency with tools and equipment needed for mechanical repairs
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices
- Experience in organizing and maintaining shop cleanliness and order
- Adhere to 5S organizational principles for the shop
- Ability to work solo or with little guidance

Location: Pentwater, MI and surrounding area
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm (actual hours will vary by season or projects).
Compensation: Starting wages at $20 - $25 per hour plus overtime and production bonus opportunities
