This position is for a large Conventional/Market Rate property. Leasing and Marketing Skills are required. Bilingual candidate preferred.
*Pay range: pay will be commensurate with experience.
Basic Scope and Function of Position
Under the supervision of the Property Manager, the Assistant Property Manager is responsible for assisting in all areas defined as a part of the Property Manager’s job description. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that the community generates a satisfactory cash flow and that the property is maintained in accordance with company standards to assure customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Must be able to manage the property in the temporary absence of the Property Manager.
- Ensure daily bank deposits are made in the absence of the Property Manager.
- Assist with showing apartments and processing applications for prospective residents.
- Assist with coordinating all details of move-ins and move-outs.
- Accurately process paperwork and ensure all data in the resident files is kept confidential.
- Prepare and maintain resident files according to state, ownership, and management policies and requirements.
- Assist with initiating the lease renewal process.
- Process maintenance service requests.
- Actively participate in maintaining good resident relations within the community.
- Keep the advertising and marketing file up to date.
- Conduct periodic market surveys, as requested.
- Cooperate with other departments within the company.
- Handle any other special assignments which may be given from time to time by the community manager.
Must Effectively:
- Manage the property in the temporary absence of the Property Manager. This includes being able to perform all the functions included in the Property Manager’s job description, or as directed by the Property Manager.
- Maintain relations with the community.
- Process maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
- Work with resident activities and the resident service coordinator (if applicable).
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- Property Management experience required - LIHTC experience is a plus.
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile under all circumstances.
- Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
- Competence in personal computer skills, keyboard, internet searching, mathematics, Microsoft Office Suite, as well as community software applications.
- Able to participate in training in order to comply with new or existing laws.
- Able to work evenings and weekends if needed.
- Present self in a neat, clean and professional manner.
- Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the Employee Handbook.

- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to use good judgment in matters pertaining to the properties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
