Overview
Vista Capital Management Group is actively seeking an experienced Housing Choice Voucher Specialist to play a pivotal role in our property management team at White Marsh Pointe at Eagle Landing. The Housing Choice Voucher specialist is a key player in the property's operations, responsible for the briefing, initial, recertification and interim process and ensuring full compliance with all aspects of Housing Choice Voucher regulations. This role involves close interaction with residents at initial move-in, annual lease renewal, and household interim changes, making it a crucial part of our team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, collecting resident information, including third-party verification, determining eligibility for continued occupancy, and processing initial certifications, annual certifications, and interim certifications as needed.
- Ensure proper calculations of income, assets, and rent levels.
- Provide ongoing support and case management to residents throughout the housing process.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
Experience
- 2 years' experience as a Housing Choice Voucher Specialist.
- Knowledge of Housing Choice Voucher, Project-Based Voucher a plus, Federal, State, and Local Housing regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to complete recertification accurately and within the established time frame.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Proficient understanding of basic math concepts.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated.
- Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor or senior staff to facilitate effective site operations.
- Extensive Knowledge of primary software used by the management office, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
