Vista Innovative is seeking a Medical Illustrator to support the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide training and support to USAMRICD staff as requested. This includes training in graphics software and instruction on visual information principles and techniques.
- Utilize and document all work in the U.S. Army Visual Information Ordering System (VIOS) according to DA PAM 25-91, Chapter 5, Sections II, 5-3 to 5-5.
- Develop illustrations, graphics, and three-dimensional models to depict medical or biological subjects using a variety of artistic techniques.
- Create drawings, paintings, diagrams, and models of medical or biological subjects in fields such as anatomy, physiology, histology, pathology, or surgical procedures for use in publications, exhibits, consultations, research, and educational activities.
- Produce sketches and illustrations using various media, including pen and ink, oil, monochromatic wash, watercolor, carbon dust, and mixed media.
- Advise on the construction of models made from plaster, wax, plastics, and other materials.
- Create visual aids such as films, videotapes, charts, and computer graphics to support teaching and research programs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher.
- Perform graphic design, medical illustration, 3D animation, layout creation, printing, finishing, and daily graphic support duties. Typically handle between 5-20 work orders per week, which may range from simple to complex.
