Community Vocational Specialist: for Adults with Disabilities

This position will assist intern cohorts as they learn the in's-and-out's of the hospitality industry.. Assist and support adults with disabilities as they work toward their employment goals in their local community! This position splits it's time between Walnut Creek and Antioch CA.
Here's what you'll do:
- Partner with individuals and/or groups to identify their career goals and interests.
- Teach classes of adults with disabilities as a part of our internship program:
- Assist groups of interns to learn valued work skills at a hotel in Walnut Creek:.
- Report and document progress at Commercial Support Services in Antioch:.
- Provide on-the-job support and mentorship at the workplace.
- Advocate for inclusion and accessibility for adults with disabilities
- Celebrate successes and milestones with program participants!
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have a positive and encouraging personality with a passion for helping others.
- Have had prior experience in training and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities (a plus, but not required).
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A creative problem solver who can adapt to different situations.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:
- Two years of experience providing direct services to individuals with disabilities or in other social service settings.
- One year of experience in a relevant field, such as rehabilitation, retail, or education (preferred).
- Valid California driver's license and reliable car for work purposes (required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (preferred).

Position: Community Employment Advocate
Location: Walnut Creek and: Antioch
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30-3:00 pm (37.5 hours per week)
Compensation: $21.50/hour great benefits!
