The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all site Human Resources (HR) activities including new hire orientation, payroll, personnel files, benefits support, associate coaching and development, employee relations, staffing, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance support, and safety support. The HR Mnager interacts with all associates at all levels, Vistar corporate office, PFG subsidiaries, and governmental and private agencies. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

The HR Mnager interacts with all associates at all levels, Vistar corporate office, PFG subsidiaries, and governmental and private agencies. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Assist managers in staffing non high-volume. Ensure all administrative items are completed according to established guidelines ( i.e., I-9 forms, onboarding).
- Assist in the training of management in application of policies and procedure. Assess training needs within the company and coordinate delivery of appropriate information (i.e., computer skills, management skills, etc.). Advise management of fair and consistent application of all approved policies and procedures.
- Function as an associate advocate by representing associates’ issues to management as appropriate. Work with management team in resolving associate issues by investigating concerns and sharing resolution alternatives.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures to include effective communications to associates.
- Ensure benefits are explained to new associates and assist in enrollment and answering quetsions. Ensure all company benefits are communicated and administered in a fair and consistent manner. Manage associate leaves as necessary.
- Oversee procedures and processes to maintain our compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations. Work with Safety and leadership on compliance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- 4-6 years Human Resources experience, including leadership level, in distribution, manufacturing, or related industry including being hands on with hourly front-line workers
- HR experience in Union environment
- Must be comfortable supporting associates across 2 shifts
- Must be comfortable in warehouse environment with heavy machinery, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks
