Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI Developer/Analyst with expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and relational data modeling to join our team. As a Senior Power BI Analyst, you will play a critical role in leveraging data to drive business insights and decision-making processes. You will collaborate closely with business partners to understand their needs, decipher the underlying motivations, and translate those requirements into technical specifications for optimal solutions. Candidates must be local. This role will be in office to start for onboarding (approx. 90 days), and after that will be 4 days in office and 1 at home.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Data Analysis and Visualization: Utilize advanced Power BI skills to create insightful and visually compelling reports that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders. Provide guidance and optimize performance around data modeling, Power Query and DAX calculations.
• Data Modeling: Demonstrate a solid understanding of relational data modeling principles to design and optimize database structures for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Business Partner Collaboration: Work closely with business partners to understand their requirements, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and uncover actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.
• Technical Requirements Definition: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure clarity in translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Agile Development: Participate in Agile development processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions within defined timelines. Experience with Jira preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on Power BI and Snowflake, providing guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on best practices and emerging trends in data analytics and visualization.
• Data Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards, including data quality, privacy, and security requirements, to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of organizational data.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives by exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data analysis and reporting processes.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be local to Denver - we will not consider out of states candidates
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5 years of Power BI, including developing and optimizing complex DAX calculations, data modeling, and data visualization.
• 5 years of SQL experience including development of stored procedures for data extraction, manipulation, and querying from relational databases.
• Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports and SQL queries.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to facilitate end-to-end BI solutions, including data ingestion (Snowflake, Informatica, SSIS), storage, and presentation layers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
