We are currently seeking an experienced intake specialist for our home infusion pharmacy in Pensacola, FL. The ideal candidate would have experience in home infusion referral entry, benefit interpretation, and medical billing/collection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' clinical and infusion therapy needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain required documentation for the initiation of home infusion services.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for home infusion therapy.
- Work closely with insurance providers to obtain authorizations for prescribed therapies.
- Navigate and interpret insurance policies and procedures related to home infusion services.
- Address and resolve issues related to insurance denials, authorization delays, and other barriers to timely patient care.
- Collaborate with the billing and reimbursement team to resolve any billing-related concerns.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting, with knowledge of infusion therapy processes.
- Strong understanding of insurance verification and authorization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
