Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Sterling Heights, MI
Job Description: A detail oriented and organized individual to join our company as a Manufacturing Engineer in our Engineering Department. This is a full-time position. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for processing and creating 3D models of component assemblies used in jet engine parts. The Engineer will use Siemens NX software to create the models and operation sheets. The Engineer will determine the tools and specifications needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to customer requirements. The Engineer must be comfortable in a manufacturing setting and interacting with shop personnel when developing processes.

Responsibilities:
- Establish part cost estimates on a mix of OEM products and overhaul services
- Create 3D models of the assembly and all components in Siemens NX
- Create operation sheets / work instructions from 3D model in Siemens NX
- Create routing / BOM / item cards in ERP (intuitive)
- Create milestones / project plans and make sure engineering tasks stay on track.
- Follow parts through shop to make sure there are no issues.
- Interact with shop personnel when developing processes.
- Possible tool design
- Provide support to customers / vendors on any engineering related items.
- Possible quoting
- Participate in root causes and other CI projects
- Ensures adherence to applicable VECCO internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline required and 5 years in the aerospace industry or general manufacturing
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
- A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
- Prior experience as a machinist is a plus
- Experience with Titanium, Stainless Steel and Inconel materials is a plus
- Ability to compile worksheets and write business correspondence
- Comfortable with a manufacturing environment interacting with machinists on the shop floor
- Excellent communication skills are needed; both verbal and written
- The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools and be proficient in the use of CAD solid modeling software
- Must have a valid US Passport
Salary: $60,000-$80,000
