VECCO is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk in our Sterling Heights Plant. In this role, you will be responsible for the shipping and receiving operations of our company, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing goods. As a vital link between our suppliers and customers, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth flow of our supply chain.

Shipping Operations:
- Receive, inspect, and process outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of items and quantities.
- Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packing slips in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch of goods.
- Utilize shipping software or systems to generate shipping labels and track shipments.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of products to prevent damage during transportation.
- Maintain shipping records, including tracking information and proof of delivery.
Receiving Operations:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying accuracy of contents and matching them to purchase orders.
- Unload, unpack, and organize incoming goods in designated storage areas.
- Update inventory systems or databases to reflect received items and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Perform quality checks on received goods to identify any damages or discrepancies.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to missing, damaged, or incorrect shipments.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely processing of received goods for inventory replenishment.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory control by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate with the purchasing department to reorder supplies when necessary.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse, ensuring efficient storage and easy accessibility of items.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including receipts, invoices, and reports.
- Generate reports on shipping costs, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics as required.
- Provide data and reports to support decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a shipping and receiving clerk or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, regulations, and documentation.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or software.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite and shipping software.
- Forklift experience would be nice.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Physical stamina to handle packages and operate warehouse equipment as needed.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
