About The Position
This position is responsible for (i) overseeing and managing the overall accounting functions of the company including timely and accurate financial statements, internal controls, cash management, and adherence to policies and procedures; (ii) driving the annual audit process; (iii) preparing all required reporting for our PE owners and banking partners; and (iv) assisting the CFO in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. The Controller is a key member of the leadership team and must be an experienced practitioner, enjoy working in a fast-paced flexible environment both as an individual and in a team. The role will manage a small team and will report to the CFO.

About The Position

Work Location/Schedule
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule requiring the employee to be at one of our VitalPath MN locations multiple days a week
- VitalPath does not offer relocation assistance for this position
- Own the accounting and financial operations for all facilities
- Prepare financial statements and analysis required by the business or regulatory agencies
- Manage the General Ledger, including month end close process, journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain current knowledge of VitalPath policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
- Automate and standardize, where possible, the accounting close process across all facilities
- Work with CFO to implement, maintain and improve internal controls, procedures, financial analysis reports and KPIs to support the strategic goals
- Own all treasury operations
- Manage VitalPath’s commercial banking relationship
- Manage VitalPath’s credit card program including adherence with corporate policy
- Lead debt management administration including compliance with debt covenants, preparation of the consolidated income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flow and any other supporting schedules
- Coordinate day-to-day cash management (AP and AR) and compile VitalPath’s rolling 13-week cash flow projections
- Drive the annual audit process
- Manage the annual audit for all facilities, including coordination of the physical inventory counts
- Preparing supporting schedules and documents
- Prepare the drafting of the annual financial statements
- Update year-end technical accounting memos
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Collaborate closely with executives for the development of budgets and forecasts
- Create analytics and lead review sessions of actual v budget v forecast
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members and be recognized as a trusted leader across the entire organization
- Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, tax, and 3rd party accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities
- Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives (i.e. inventory management optimization)
- Participate as a core team member for any ERP implementation(s), be the subject matter expert on the financial accounting configurations and reporting
- Assist Human Resources with payroll processing and benefits administration, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, with 7-10 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
- Proficient with Accounting and ERP software, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and/or QuickBooks preferred
- Experience with system and process implementations, including in the context of M&A is highly desirable
- Accounting experience with manufacturing or medical device company is strongly preferred
- Good judgement and decision-making abilities, considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
- Strong time management skills, including the time of others
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performance accounting teams
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and forecast modeling
- Relentless attention to details and passionate about process improvement
- Responsive with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead team members to achieve a goal/project plan
- Complex problem-solving skills, identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Substantial knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices and reporting of financial data
- The salary range for this position is $163,000 - $193,000 . The posted salary range complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as market conditions, level of experience and training, education, certifications, as well as internal and external equity
