Vitamix is seeking a Sr. Manager, E-Commerce Sales (Amazon) who will be responsible for designing, leading and implementing the strategic direction of the Amazon and Walmart accounts in alignment with Vitamix goals and objectives in order to drive sales velocity, improve profitability and expand brand awareness. The Sr. Manager will understand how to drive ecommerce sales and the needs of the Amazon and Walmart accounts. They will also oversee Amazon US, Amazon CA, and Walmart.com US key customer accounts to continually optimize and ensure a mutually beneficial relationship that maintains Vitamix’s premium blending leadership position in the market. The successful candidate will have the ability to see opportunities with their accounts, create go-forward plans, communicate and present strategic opportunities both internally and externally while they engage and inspire peers and their team to implement complicated plans. They will report on progress, and most importantly, adapt and change plans as retail changes.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Builds partnerships with the Amazon and Walmart.com team members and fosters mutual internal team alignment.
  • Develops, executes, and communicates short and long term sales plans that drive revenue and profitability growth in support of organization strategy and objectives.
  • Provides detailed and accurate sales forecasts based on POS and data-driven assumptions to Planning and Operations.
  • Demonstrates accountability for managing full P&L in collaboration with key internal partners. Drives the implementation of initiatives to accelerate the business.
  • Manages and effectively grows account profitability. Owns the direct relationship with the Amazon US and Canada Vendor Managers and Walmart.com Account Managers.
  • Partners with marketing and business insights to understand industry trends and customer, market, and competitor activity. 
  • Creates and adapts JBP and internal strategy plans that align with Vitamix’s vision and strategy while also minimizing channel tension.

  • Interfaces with senior executives as in internal educator of ecommerce needs, policies, strategies and key competitive activities
  • Partners with the Marketing team to ensure that media strategies, channel strategies, and promotional plans are effective for the overall account growth goals and health of the P&L.
  • Develops and updates annual sales budget and analyzes and maintains forecasts for assigned accounts.
  • Builds talent and develops high performing and motivated teams to carry out the strategic plan; identifies successors for key positions; provides coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to improve individual, team and functional performance.
  • Reviews and understand daily and weekly shipments and weekly consumption and POS trends.
  • Owns the account negotiations internally and track the ongoing volume forecast at Amazon
  • Works with sales support teams and demand planning teams on supply management and manage internal and external expectations around key issues that may arise.
  • Clearly communicates both positive and negative progress frequently to leadership and report out on findings in Monthly Operating Review (MOR). Create opportunities to coordinate meetings to ensure we stay aligned with the high level strategy of the customer.

 

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Vendor Portals preferred:   Vendor Central and Seller Center
  •  Proven experience managing major key accounts
  •  Expert-level understanding of the retail industry (consumer good industry preferred)
  •  Ability to analyze POS data and accurately forecast sales
  • Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner
  • Ability to present technical information and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization
  • Possesses dynamic presentation skills for communication to external organizations and groups as needed, on employment or Company topics. Must have experience making effective presentations to large and varied groups.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to broadly influence and effectively forge partnerships both internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others
  • Ability to build consensus and decision making through influence.
  • Ability to effectively engage with and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Proven strategic planning skills with ability to create and direct major change initiatives
  • Directly responsible for leading managers of the department and indirectly responsible for all employees within the department.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • 8-10 years in sales related positions
  • 7 years progressive experience in managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities
  • 5 years of successful experience leading a team of managers
  • Must have Amazon Sales and or Amazon Account Management experience
  • 5 years CPG experience
  • Sales planning, forecasting and budgeting experience required
  • People management experience desired
