Mid Shift Dispatcher

Job Summary:

The Dispatch plays a critical role in the efficient and effective operations of our transportation network. This position is responsible for overseeing daily dispatch operations, ensuring on-time deliveries, and maintaining strong communication with drivers and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Daily Dispatch Operations:
• Plan and assign routes to drivers based on customer orders, driver availability, and vehicle capacity.
• Monitor driver locations and progress throughout the day, addressing any delays or issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via phone, or other communication channels.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to customers.
• Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to on-time delivery, driver productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot issues that drivers are experiencing through communication.
• Be the voice of calm when people need your help.
• Protect the schedule

• Customer Service:
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any delivery-related issues.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding any potential delays or service disruptions.

• Driver Management:
• Conduct driver safety and compliance checks.
• Address driver concerns and resolve any disciplinary issues.
• Assist with driver training and onboarding.

• Equipment Management:
• Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure timely repairs.
• Coordinate vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Emergency Response:
• Develop and implement emergency response plans for unforeseen events, such as traffic accidents or severe weather.

• Other Duties:
• Assist with the preparation of daily and weekly dispatch reports.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in dispatch or transportation logistics.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, FMCSA).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in GPS tracking systems and dispatch software.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Occasionally exposed to refrigerated conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
