Staff Accountant

We're currently seeking a Staff Accountant to focus on payroll processing, merchant account reconciliations, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing flexibility between remote and in-office work.

An eagerness to learn and grow into a well-rounded accounting professional
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Required)
1 years of payroll and accounting experience (preferred)
Strong reconciliation skills, particularly with merchant accounts and payroll
Proficiency in Excel and accounting / payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Zenoti, etc.)
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
An acute attention to detail; ability to think on your feet
Superior time management and organizational skills
Responsible ; team player , with a strong work ethic
Professional communication skills , both written and verbal
Consistent attendance punctuality ability to work weekends and some holidays

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll Processing : Manage and process payroll accurately and timely for all employees

Merchant Account Reconciliations : Review and reconcile POS transactions, merchant deposits, and chargebacks

General Ledger Reconciliations : Ensure accuracy in financial records by reconciling payroll, merchant accounts, and bank accounts

Financial Reporting : Assist in preparing financial statements and month-end close tasks

Compliance : Ensure payroll and financial records align with company policies and regulatory requirements

Audit Support : Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll and reconciliations

Learning & Development : Work closely with the Director of Finance to gain exposure to full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, and strategic financial management

Educate employees on commissions, bonuses, tips are calculated and ensure transparency in how errors are calculated and when adjustments are made
