The Community Pharmacist will be responsible for performing outpatient medication reconciliations, implementing pharmacy management programs, supporting providers in medication management for patients and may serve as the Pharmacy Director key position in the ACHN program. This position will also coordinate and support pharmacy initiatives, such as dispensing of ninety (90) day supply for maintenance medications, pharmacist vaccine administration and smoking cessation. This position will travel to locations within the relevant service area through a reliable means of transportation insured in accordance with Company policy.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy
- 3 years of community pharmacy experience within the past 4 years; if serving in the Pharmacy Director Key Staff Position, must have 5 years’ experience as a pharmacist within the past 6 years
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the State of Alabama
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Alabama preceptor certification within 9 months of hire
- May require significant face-to-face member contact, with duties regularly performed away from the principal place of business
- Willing to submit to vaccine testing and screening
- Possess excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent interview and telephone skills, as well as the ability to deal with patients in a caring and helpful manner
- Working knowledge of health-related service delivery systems
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Ability to analyze varied environmental factors in relation to patients’ wellbeing
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable, and to work effectively in a variety of settings
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
PREFERRED:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Supervisory experience
- Health Plan or Managed Care knowledge
- Working knowledge of provider engagement activities and/or clinical pharmacy benefits management
- Knowledgeable in Medicaid state/federal programs
