Title: Facilities Technician III
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $33/hr
The Facilities Suite & Elastomer Maintenance Mechanic Level III supports the Engineering Services group by operating and performing daily checks on direct and indirect maintenance equipment/systems. The technician also assists higher-level mechanics with repairs in compliance with company and departmental SOPs. This role operates in a fast-paced, safety-oriented, team environment and involves routine tasks that require the ability to recognize deviations from accepted practices.
The individual is responsible for maintaining records in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, including detailed documentation of work performed in both electronic and written formats. This is an advanced-level position, and the technician is expected to perform routine and advanced diagnostic troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for in-depth understanding and practical application of core departmental SOPs.
- Performs all work safely, adhering to GMP guidelines, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Executes Suite & Elastomer preventive maintenance practices related to manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs direct and indirect manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Maintains maintenance areas at audit-ready levels at all times.
- Keeps current with all required training related to job responsibilities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Elastomer program (package creation, spare parts requisition, LOTO boundaries, and work execution).
- Executes all assigned elastomer-related work.
- Applies CMMS functions for documenting assigned maintenance activities.
- Understands spare parts policies and procedures, including parts transactions.
- Uses Quality Systems (DMS & TrackWise) as part of daily responsibilities.
- Participates in safety training programs.
- Uses tools and equipment safely, in accordance with manufacturer and plant safety guidelines.
- Applies knowledge of equipment schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings related to manufacturing processing equipment.
- Collaborates with Reliability & Engineering on projects and repairs. Assists in root cause investigations related to equipment failures as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assessed using the Maintenance Skills Matrix. A proficiency score of 1.5–1.9 in both Trade Skills and Equipment Skills is required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Willingness to learn how to read complex mechanical drawings.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to understand and apply Standard Operating Procedures consistently.
- Working knowledge of shop math; ability to read and write effectively.
- Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge.
