Facilities Cleaning Specialist - 3rd shift

This is a skilled and detail-oriented 3rd shift Facilities Cleaning Specialist (11:00pm-7:30am; Sunday-Thursday) who has experience and knowledge of maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of commercial building facilities. This role requires the ability to handle industrial-level cleaning tasks, ensuring that all areas, including the plant floors, ceilings, walls and storage areas, meet high cleanliness and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be familiar with methods needed to clean large-scale facilities and will work efficiently to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of all warehouse areas, including the floor, loading docks, aisles, equipment, and storage areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum warehouse floors using appropriate cleaning machines such as industrial sweepers or scrubbers.
• Dust and clean high surfaces, such as beams, columns and purlins in both accessible and hard-to-reach areas.
• Empty trash bins, compact waste, and dispose of in specified receptacles.
• Manage and record recycling processes according to company procedures.
• Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment, including floor buffers, pressure washers, and vacuum cleaners.
• Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas and report any maintenance or safety issues, such as spills, leaks, or damaged equipment, to supervisor.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning, with a focus on large-scale facilities such as warehouses, factories, or distribution centers.
• Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, sweepers, and pressure washers.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
• Familiarity with production environments, including safety protocols related to high-traffic areas and machinery.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring thorough cleaning even in hard-to-reach areas.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as as part of a team.
• Knowledge of and commitment to health, safety, and environmental procedures in cleaning.
• Experience with deep cleaning tasks such as floor waxing, power washing, and equipment maintenance.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus but not required.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
