About the Team
We are seeking an enthusiastic Sr Application Development Engineer for our TV platforms, specializing in native application development to help develop and maintain Vizio’s core operating structure. The Sr Application Engineer will be responsible for taking visions and directing, communicating, tracking, and mentoring the Engineering consultants to successfully implement those visions. This Position will report to our Director and will have multiple Engineering leaders as direct reports. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you’ll be delivering the software that helps us grow. We pride ourselves on working in a collaborative environment, and to do so we are in our Dallas, TX office 5 days a week.

What You Will Do
- Be involved with every stage of the application software development process.
- Design APIs / SDKs used by other teams, both internal and external to the company.
- Code and build high quality embedded applications for next generation TV apps.
- Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many cross functional teams, architects, product owners and engineers.
- Make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product.
- Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
- Participate in cross-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams.
- Be a multiplier and have a passion for team and team members’ success.
- Maintain high morale and motivate the delivery team to go above and beyond.
- Vocally advocate for technical excellence and help the teams make good decisions.
