Job Description

The Quality Assurance Associate is focused on Special Projects and responsible for a formal examination of a product against its technical documentation to verify the product baseline. Responsibilities include internal and external audits, source inspection planning and preparation, and the VMC Quality Management System.

Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:

1. Product Certification Agency (PCA) Inspector

  • Define the scope of the annual PCA including the specific product, process and procedure of certified units and the manufacturing site that will be inspected.
  • Establish the plan and ensure it follows the ISO 17065 Scheme process and procedures.
  • Perform the annual inspection of certified customer units on site and remotely.
  • Prepare and submit to the PCA Engineers the disposition and all findings and required documentation relating to the details of the inspection. This involves substantial communication with the customer and the administrative staff as well as with PCA Engineers ensuring impartiality and no conflicts of interest, to address/resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Initiate communication with the customer to address and resolve discrepancies and submit a Corrective Action Report to the Engineers who outline next steps.
  • Perform final review/comment of audit reports and documentation prepared by others for final approval.
  • Attend and support the PCA-127 Audit and provide necessary and requested documents and information.

2. Support the Quality Department

  • Provide senior level technical guidance and direction to the Quality Department with respect to any product, and documentation requirements and standards.
  • Inspections of products and determine if it is a Pass/Fail criterion according to the drawing.

3. Audits

  • Prepare for and participate in the ISO 9001 internal audit and the ISO 17065 Audit with data, documentation and information. Provide Corrective Action Responses and ensure these are resolved.

4. Responsible for the Quality Control module using the VMC Group s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

  • Inspection Processing After product has passed QA, ensure the product is moved to the correct Warehouse, and BIN location with the correct quantity using Inspection Processing within the ERP system.
  • RMA Processing Responsible for receiving all returned products using RMA processing within the ERP system.
  • Non-conformance Responsible for segregating the Non-conforming product within ERP
  • Disposition Material Request (DMR) process Upon final disposition of the product, facilitate the appropriate action including but not limited to a return to inventory, returned to the supplier, repaired or discarded.

5. Quality Support

  • Assist in maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • Support the quality team in developing, documenting, and maintaining quality policies and procedures.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in the preparation for external audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze quality metrics and develop improvement plans.
  • Conduct inspections of products and processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and assist in the development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality management practices and ISO standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of quality reports and documentation for management review.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree is a plus.
  • 3 years auditing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years Quality Assurance experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 3 years experience with ISO 17020 0r 17065 a plus.
  • 2 years hands on experience with Internal audits.
  • Experience with (GD&T) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a plus.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing blueprints.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Able to travel: Domestic and international travel 50%.
