Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector

The Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector plays a key role in ensuring the quality of manufactured goods, working closely with the QA Supervisor to support production.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Verification

• Inspect incoming raw materials and components for conformance to existing inspection plans, customer drawings, sales orders, and purchase orders.
• Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process to identify and address any material discrepancies.

In-Process Product Inspection

• Verify the integrity of products in various stages of production, ensuring they meet specifications and dimensional checks.
• Randomly sample in-process products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Document inspection results, including re-work and waste.

Final Product Inspection

• Ensure final products meet specific customer orders and review sign-offs on traveler or work orders before releasing products to shipping.
• Collect quality data on accept and reject rates across all areas.
• Perform inspections in the curb shop as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Working knowledge of gauge calibration and ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, applying knowledge to product inspection.
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 symbology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of experience in mechanical inspection environment.
• Experience with ISO 9000 preferred.
• Ability to travel if required.
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
