What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Mechanical Inspector position at VMC Group?
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Mechanical Inspection Quality Assurance Professional to join our team at VMC Group.
In this role, you will work under the supervision of the QA Supervisor to support production and test manufactured goods. Your primary responsibility will be to use basic mechanical inspection tools and gauges to ensure a successful product line.
Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:
1. Assurance of material criteria establishment
- Verifying traceability of incoming raw materials and components to existing inspection plans, customer drawings, and sales orders
- Managing the Material Review Board (MRB) process
2. In Process Product Inspection
- Ensuring the integrity of the product during production
- Randomly sampling the in-process product to ensure specifications and dimensional checks
- Documenting inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste
3. Final Product Inspection
- Ensuring the final product meets the specific customer order
- Reviewing the final sign off on the traveler or work order to release the product to shipping
- Collecting quality data for accept and reject rates in all areas
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a mechanical inspection environment
- Working knowledge of calibration of gauges and ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply knowledge to inspection of products
