Mid-Level Contract Specialist
Location: Tucson, AZ: On-Site
Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Contract Specialist to support our client. These team members will play a vital role in supporting base-level procurement operations and will bring valuable expertise across the acquisition lifecycle in a dynamic federal contracting environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide acquisition support across the full procurement lifecycle for commercial supplies, services, and minor construction contracts at the base level.
- Draft, review, and finalize acquisition documentation such as Statements of Work (SOW), market research reports, IGCEs, and acquisition plans.
- Assist in the preparation of solicitations, evaluation criteria, contract awards, and post-award modifications in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and agency policies.
- Support pre- and post-award contracting functions, including contract administration, performance monitoring, and closeout activities.
- Collaborate closely with Contracting Officers, technical stakeholders, and acquisition teams to ensure timely and compliant procurement actions.
- Maintain organized, complete, and compliant contract files and documentation to support audits and internal reviews.
- Apply contracting knowledge and sound judgment to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and contribute to mission success.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 6 years of federal contracting experience, with preferred experience supporting the Department of the Air Force.
- At least 2 years of experience in base-level contracting involving the procurement of commercial items and minor construction.
- Preferred experience in construction contracting.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
- DAWIA Contracting Professional, FAC-C Professional, or equivalent certification required.
- Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and federal procurement procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
