We are currently seeking a Maintenance and Grounds Keeper to join our team in McPherson & Salina, Kansas! What You Will Do to Change Lives
As the Maintenance and Grounds Keeper, you will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. This position also oversees and/or performs general lawn maintenance and landscaping. This is an on-site position in a housing community setting. Typical hours of operation are 8-5 Monday through Friday. This position will work at properties in McPherson, KS and in Salina, KS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities regarding lawn care and landscaping.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring:
- This position occasionally requires long hours and possible evening, weekend and holiday work. Requires the ability to be on call and respond, if necessary, to emergencies on the property, during business hours & after hours, when informed.
- Some travel required with paid mileage.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects, with appropriate equipment (dollies, hand trucks, etc.), weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with residents of the community.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in general maintenance including heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing equipment, light carpentry and groundskeeping preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Driver’s License & Proof of current liability automobile insurance (your name must be on the policy)
