What are the responsibilities and job description for the School-Based Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) position at Vocational & Psychological Services?
Vocational & Psychological Services is seeking a Behavior Health Technician for a full-time position supporting the Sharpsville Elementary School. This role requires strong clinical and documentation skills as well as the ability to function as a member of our team. Must be a self starter.

Clearances Required:
Act 33/34, Act 168, PA State and FBI clearances required
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities as a Behavioral Health Technician:
- Attend supervision as required
- Complete required training
- Provide one-on-one interventions to a child in the school setting
- Prepare for and facilitate bookend psycho-educational social skills groups
- Implement goals and objectives from the Individual Treatment Plan
- Support school efforts to stabilize the child
- Promote age-appropriate behavior
- Collaborate with members of the treatment team
- Consult with Master's level clinicians
- Support the child in achieving goals and objectives outlined in Individual Treatment Plan
- Foster the client's positive relationship with the school
- Reinforce rules and responsibilities with the child
- Help improve social interactions with both peers and adults
- Assist in de-escalation when experiencing elevated emotions
- Positive interventions which may include, but are not limited to: behavior modification, positive reinforcement, prompting, redirection, token economy, modeling, role-play, social skills, crisis intervention and management techniques, emotional support, problem solving strategies, behavioral reinforcements, delayed gratification, additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities described in the treatment plan
