The Production Floor Supervisor will train and improve vocational skills for individuals with disabilities for gainful employment. They will train and improve vocational skills for individuals with disabilities for gainful employment. They will supervise, coordinate, and document the production work and activities of the employees to support their Vocational Individualized Plan (V.I.P).
They will supervise up to 25 individuals and must be flexible, as several jobs could occur simultaneously, and the employees could all be at different skill levels. The supervisor will monitor the employees' work to ensure they understand the process and meet quality control standards. The supervisor will revisit areas where the employees are struggling and need extra training to succeed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. One year of Manufacturing, production and/or supervisor experience or training is preferred.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Ø Occasional after-hours meetings or functions
Ø Occasional weekend training
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Demonstrate job duties to employees and observe them performing tasks to ensure understanding of requirements.
· Assign employees to clean, sort, assemble, repair, or hand-pack products or components.
· Monitors the work performance at each employee's station to ensure compliance with procedures, safety regulations, and quality control.
· Perform extra training for the employees when needed.
· Confer with the facility production manager to reassign simpler tasks when workers cannot perform assigned tasks or to assign higher degrees of complexity as they reach a certain level of competence.
· Handle materials when needed.
· Accurately track whether employees work a piece count or hourly wage task to ensure proper payment per the DOL.
· Accurately calculate piece count totals to ensure proper employee payment per DOL.
· Appropriately access behavior incidents and respond accordingly.
· Document behaviors daily, weekly, or as needed per the requirements of Program Services.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Participates in time studies to develop time analysis for each job.
· Must be willing to work in other locations when the General Manager requests.
· Must maintain strict confidentiality on matters related to VSI’s operation, personnel, finances, employees, and business partners.
· All other duties as assigned
Pay: $17.00 per hour with .50 cent increase after three months and another .50 cent increase at one year.
