F&B – Server Assistant / Busser

ABOUT THE ROLE
Being a server’s assistant is all about keeping the dining experience smooth and efficient. It’s a behind-the-scenes hero position—supporting the servers, keeping guests happy, and making sure the restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine.
SCOPE OF WORK TEAM
- Reports to the Food & Beverage Director / Sous Chef
- Supports special F&B staff
Food Runner Responsibilities:
- Delivering Food: Bringing dishes from the kitchen to the correct tables quickly and accurately.
- Communicating with Kitchen & Servers: Making sure food goes out fresh and in the right order, and updating staff on any delays or issues.
- Checking Orders: Ensuring everything is correct on the plate before it reaches the guest (sides, sauces, temperature, etc.).
- Presentation & Timing: Making sure plates are clean, neat, and served while hot—timing is everything!
Busser Responsibilities:
- Clearing Tables: Quickly removing used plates, glasses, and utensils once guests are done.
- Resetting Tables: Wiping down surfaces and setting tables with fresh silverware, napkins, and menus.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping dining areas, floors, and service stations tidy and well-stocked.
- Supporting Servers: Refilling water, bringing extra napkins or condiments, and helping with large parties or busy times.
- ICE will be the most important part of all service for all facets of the F&B
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Prior Experience:
- Previous experience preferred
IT Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of computer software (POS SilverWare) and web analytics tools is preferred.
Education:
- No formal education required; High School diploma or equivalent desired
Subject Expertise:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
- Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.
- Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
OTHER EXPECTATIONS:
- Abide by payroll policies, procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
- Travel required: As needed for hotel familiarization, content creation shoots and to meet with colleagues.
- Hours Required: Must primarily work during Springboard Hospitality business hours, Monday - Sunday 7am - 10pm (EST), while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
