Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a school setting
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in Alabama
- Alabama certificate endorsed in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience with IEPs and student evaluations (virtual support available)
- Strong tech skills and excellent communication abilities
Position Details:
- Full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, for the 2024/25 school year
- Serve K-12 students across multiple schools, including a virtual academy
- Manage a caseload with mild to moderate disabilities
- Provide therapy for issues such as receptive and expressive language, and articulation
- Collaborate remotely with colleagues and parents
- Utilize district email and IEP systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough evaluations to identify speech and language needs
- Deliver remote therapy services to address and prevent communication disorders
- Contribute to curriculum development and local speech and language policies
- Provide teletherapy for both school and community needs
- Offer individual or small group therapy via a secure platform
- Develop and implement tailored instructional plans
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff about IEPs
- Address the diverse needs of students
- Set clear objectives for lessons and instructional activities
- Attend parent conferences as needed
- Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to district policies
- Uphold a professional appearance and conduct
