OCB International Multimedia Journalist Level II Graphic Designer (Digital and Social Media)

  • Serves as a Graphic Artist executing a variety of electronic computer graphics utilizing a variety of electronic paint systems and digital effects devices for content distributed on the web and through social media.
  • Design visually appealing and cohesive graphics for social media posts and other promotional materials.
  • Researches and implements new graphic designs and production techniques into daily graphic production.
  • Create Posts, special pages, and applications to attract users.
  • Proficient in Graphic Design, After Effects, Illustration Design, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Motion Graphics, Typography, Editing, Digital Marketing and Social Media.
  • Knowledge of electronic graphic designs and computer graphic design including composition and layout, color, font, and design as applied.
  • Excellent command of the Spanish language for the creation of banner ads, infographics, interactive maps, and other visual elements that combine images and words.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to enhance content created by others.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to produce original ideas.
  • Adheres to the highest levels of standards in journalism and follows the VOA/OCB Journalistic Standards Guide.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) to upload material to web and social media. Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with OCB’s digital asset/content management systems.

USAGM networks include the Voice of America and the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (Radio and TV Marti) and three grantee organizations: Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, the Middle East Broadcasting Networks (Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa), and Radio Free Asia.

This is not an announcement for a federal job. This position is for employment as a personal services contractor with VOA News and may include eligibility for health, dental, vision, and life insurance, overtime, paid time off, sick leave, and the possibility of performance-based bonuses. All personal service contractors must pass a thorough background check.

U.S. citizenship is not required for this job and visa sponsorship is possible for the right candidates.
