Field Service Intern

York, PA

Summary – Supporting Field Service Engineers with planning and managing field service scope of projects within budget, time and under consideration of all Field Service relevant aspects.

Internship will give employee the opportunity to learn about Voith and the hydro-power industry.

Responsibilities

• Develops concepts, execution plans and cost estimates for field service scope of proposals.
• Understands technical requirements as well as legal/regional regulations.
• Ensures availability of all required information. Participates in site assessments.
• Prepares specifications for purchased services/supplies and evaluates bids/offers.
• Facilitates project startup and details field service concept/plans during project execution.
• Participates in design review meetings and ensures field related design considerations.
• Develops and ensures availability of project specific procedures and safety assessments.
• Determines site layouts, tooling/fixtures and site infrastructure requirements.
• Ensures availability of HSE and quality plans and documents.
  
  

Main working relationships

• Offer Project Team, Project Execution Team, Customers and Suppliers
• Field Service roles such as Field Service Management, Site Managers/Supervisors, Field Machining Supervisors, Tooling & Equipment Support.
• Functional areas such as Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Purchasing & Logistics, Quality, HR, Legal.
  
  

Qualifications

• Pursuing university diploma in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Technical understanding of hydro turbines, generators and balance of plant equipment.
• Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fully computer literate MS office suite.
• Some travelling to various project sites are to be expected.
