Technical Project Specialist - Atlas Model Care

Role Summary
The Technical Project Specialist works in the team Atlas Family. The incumbent in this position must support the Technical Project Manager by setting objectives, establishing efficient working processes within the team, and setting up Engineering activities along the PEP-process and tracks these activities. He/she supports the Technical Project Manager for the NAR-Product-team Atlas and derivatives. He/she is required to stay in touch with the different departments in Chattanooga, Puebla and Wolfsburg respective to his/her responsibilities.
Project Management – (70%)
- Supports the Technical Project Manager (Engineering representative) in his/her tasks for the NAR-Product-Team Atlas Family.
- Helps to prepare and coordinate decision papers within all PEP-processes for board meetings from the Engineering side.
- Prevents critical Engineering activities regarding the project schedule.
- Supports the “Kick off” for engineering activities (defining responsibilities, tasks, goals, deadlines).
- Coordinates activities with the Technical Product Manager respective definition of responsibilities, tasks, and deadlines for the projects (job split definition).
- Creates, coordinates, and tracks project budgets.
- Generates and coordinates project schedules.
- Supports the generation and coordination of the technical project definition (TPB).
- Support the Engineering Representative for the Eigenschaftskatalog definition and coordination within the Engineering departments.
- Coordinates and tracks all Engineering activities, assuring steady information flow and corrective measures creation.
- Analyzes project status and tracks all activities regarding technical issues, deadlines, and costs.
- Generates (status) presentations for Board/Project meetings.
Quality Resolution – (15%)
- Escalates/briefs General Manager on critical issues.
- Creates task force teams and deadlines to solve critical Engineering-owned challenges and prepares decisions.
- Supports active tracking and controlling of JDP issues required for Model Care implementation and production/quality/sales/purchasing requirements pertaining to Engineering.
- Processes/translates US customer specific cases into internal TKB/TPB.
Competitor Analysis & Benchmarking – (15%)
- Prepares for Konzeptklausuren, Kostenklausuren, competition drives, summer/winter drives, DEF, KAF, and MAF.
- Gathers information on internal vehicles, competitors, benchmarks, and technology trends.
- Coordinates and participates in market introduction activities for projects.
Required
- 5-7 years of experience with automotive and management background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
- Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
- Integration – joining people, processes or systems
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Resource management
- Good knowledge and work experience of the development processes within the automotive industry
- Good team spirit, tracking, and communication skills
- Experienced projects within the automotive industry
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering
- German / Spanish language skills
- Good knowledge and work experience of the development processes (PEP) at VWAG
- Experienced projects within VWAG
Work Flexibility: Estimated 10-20% traveling depending on project needs
