Volo Internet Tech seeks a dynamic, organized, outgoing, and detail-oriented person to join our team as a Fiber & Wireless Network Technician. This job includes installing and maintaining fiber and wireless network hardware on the ground, on roofs, and on towers.
Ideal candidates will be mechanically inclined and have been exposed to or have direct experience in some or all of the following areas:
- Installation and testing of telephone and Ethernet wiring.
- Configuring, testing, and troubleshooting Ethernet switches.
- Basic testing of fiber optic connections
- Light electrical work, drywall repair, and other property maintenance tasks
- Locating and marking underground wiring using a locator
- Experience with small-medium power equipment (trenchers etc)
Job requirements include:
- Perform work indoors and out in all weather conditions, includingwork on roofs and towers up to 350 feet tall.
- Keep tools and equipment tidy, accounted for, and in good repair at all times.
- Ability to climb stairs, lift at least 75 lbs, bend at knees and waist, and enter and work in attics and crawlspaces
- A valid driver's license and good driving record free of any major traffic incidents within the last two years
- Ability to pass pre-hire (and post-accident, if an accident were to occur) drug screens
- Weekend availability
- Professional presentation.
- Ability to perform assigned work in a good and tidy manner and return all areas to acceptable condition
- Good communication skills via written, oral, and electronic means.
- Comfort using hand and power tools
- Reasonable level of comfort using computers
Employees are expected to have a smartphone with unlimited text and data plan (cell phone usage reimbursement is provided), work appropriate outerwear for hot, wet, and cold days, and shoes and boots appropriate for ground, roof, and tower work.
