Volpe Enterprises is a full-service design/build complete home remodeling company that has been in business since 1970. We are looking to add an HR Generalist to our team in North Wales PA. Job Summary:

The HR Generalist is responsible for various HR functions including organizing employee events and communications, workers' compensation and unemployment claims, documenting processes, recruiting, and payroll processing. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:


  • Compliance
    • Manage and process workers' compensation claims.
    • Maintain records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
    • Coordinate with insurance carriers and medical providers.
    • Handle all aspects of unemployment claims.
    • Maintain documentation and records of claims.
    • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.

  • Employee Engagement
    • Plan and coordinate employee events, including the annual Company Christmas party and Company Meeting.
    • Develop and run initiatives to promote employee engagement and morale.
    • Manage budgets and logistics for all events.
    • Create company communications and social media posts as directed.
    • Manage Company Uniform orders and inventory.
    • Be the main point of contact for community involvement projects.

  • Recruiting
    • Create and post job openings utilizing ATS.
    • Utilize various channels, including online ads, networking events, social media and job fairs to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
    • Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates and conduct initial Phone Screens.
    • Actively search for potential candidates using databases, social media, and professional network
    • Coordinate candidate interviews with hiring managers.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to select the best candidate, prepare and extend job offers, including all offer paperwork, and collect paperwork from accepted offers.
    • Initiate onboarding process, including new hire paperwork, IT setup, and workspace arrangement.
    • Conduct First Day new hire orientation.

  • Payroll
    • Accurately process employee payroll on a scheduled basis, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and company policies.
    • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee details, deductions, bonuses, and benefits to ensure accurate and timely payroll execution.
    • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, preparing and submitting payroll-related reports such as tax filings, wage garnishments, and benefits deductions.
    • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clarification on earnings, deductions, taxes, and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Work with payroll software to input, audit, and verify payroll data, coordinating with HR and finance teams to implement updates and improvements as needed.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operates safely in all conditions.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and processes.
  • Experience with workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
