As a Quality Inspector you will:
- Reviews job documentation for Machining and Sheet Metal Operations, ensuring previous steps are completed correctly.
- Resolves documentation issues before sending products to Shipping.
- Determines sample size based on customer needs, risks, lessons learned, and company procedures
- Conducts visual and some mechanical inspections of products using appropriate tools.
- Performs complex dimensional inspections as part of the Dimensional Inspection department.
- Uses inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and “Go/No-Go” gages.
- Decides whether to accept or reject products based on inspection results, documenting any non-conformances
- Collaborates with production operators and leaders to identify rejection causes and suggest corrective actions
- Maintains personal safety and keeps the work area clean and orderly.
- Suggests ways to improve department processes for better quality and efficiency.
- Identifies and reports risks related to processes, products, procedures, people, infrastructure, or the environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical inspection
- Have knowledge of the manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2-year college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient understanding mechanical blueprint symbols and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance principles is required
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Selected candidate must be able to provide
- Excellent mathematics, computer, and communication skills are a must.
- Excellent visual inspection skills are essential.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
