Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping individuals and families navigate complex social systems, providing support and resources to improve their overall well-being. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a deep understanding of social services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to understand clients' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Provide counseling and support for individuals dealing with addiction, mental health issues, or crisis situations.
- Mentor clients in developing coping strategies and life skills to enhance their independence.
- Facilitate access to community resources, including housing assistance programs such as Section 8.
- Supervise case management activities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and needs within various systems, including child welfare and workforce development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and services for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
Skills
- Strong mentoring abilities to guide clients through personal challenges.
- Proficiency in addiction counseling techniques and crisis management strategies.
- Experience in childcare settings or knowledge of child welfare practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with workforce development initiatives to assist clients in achieving employment goals.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and motivational interviewing techniques is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
