Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to critically ill children. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will work in a fast-paced environment within a Level I Trauma Center, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
- Perform airway management and assist with respiratory support as needed.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Administer intravenous therapy and phlebotomize as required for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information in compliance with hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols within the unit.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in a PICU or similar critical care setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to pediatric patients.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices, including medication administration protocols.
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center or assisted living facility is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Must be able to pass all required background checks and drug screenings as per hospital policy.
