Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, including long-term care facilities and acute care environments. The LPN will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring that patients receive appropriate care while adhering to established protocols and standards.
Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform venipuncture for blood draws as needed.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with acute pain management strategies for patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and internal medicine in daily tasks.
Skills
- Proficiency in long-term care practices and principles.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to nursing practice.
- Knowledge of infection control measures to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Experience or familiarity with pediatrics is a plus.
- Competence in venipuncture techniques for blood collection.
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively.
- Understanding of acute pain management strategies for diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with internal medicine practices and patient care approaches.
- Solid foundation in physiology knowledge as it relates to nursing responsibilities.
