Summary
As a Laboratory Technician at Voluntary Purchasing Groups, Inc., you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our lawn and garden chemical products. This position is essential to our mission of delivering superior solutions to independent retailers while adhering to industry standards.
Responsibilities
o Perform analytical methods using various lab equipment
o Test samples as required
o Record test results accurately and completely as required by Quality Practices and Guidelines
o Perform good laboratory housekeeping
o Communicate test results and complete paperwork as required
o Collaborate in meeting the goals of the different departments, laboratory, production, or quality control
o Assist with any issues related to Lab consumables, disposables, and reagents.
o Perform other duties as needed
Position Requirements:
A. Education/Experience
o Associate’s degree in related science field preferred
o 1 years of laboratory experience preferred
o HPLC & GC experience preferred
B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
o Excellent communication skills suited to a wide variety of audiences in both written and verbal capacities
o Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, formula functions, formatting)
o Must possess strong organizational skills
o Ability to work with minimal supervision
o Ability to work well in a team environment
o Ability to perform calculations and scientific conversions
o Ability to work overtime as needed
