What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley?
The responsibilities are to carry out general maintenance tasks as assigned and perform as a maintenance and construction technician on in-house and outside construction projects as directed, and in the best interests of VOADV Property.
SCOPE OF DUTIES:
- Perform maintenance inspections, repair work and perform construction project work as needed.
- Keep accurate record of work completed including time and materials, and work independently.
- Report all unsafe of potentially hazardous conditions immediately to the Construction & Maintenance Director.
- Attend and participate in job meetings and training sessions as required.
- Pick up and deliver necessary materials and supplies as needed or requested by Construction and Maintenance Foreman.
- Keep accurate record of petty cash account.
- Responsible for the care and safe keeping of all department tools and equipment.
- Be available for on call emergency service as assigned.
- Perform as crew leader when necessary and as assigned by the director, supervisor.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.
ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to climb stairs, and work from ladder while using or carrying tools.
- Ability to lift a least 50 pounds several times during and 8-hour period.
- Ability to see clearly all types of plans, gauges, rulers and drive a light truck.
- Ability to operate power and non-power hand tools.
