We provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for women facing homelessness, domestic violence, and other crises. As a Shelter Support Staff member, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clients' comfort, safety, and well-being during their stay at our facility.
Position: Shelter Support Staff (multiple positions available)
Location: Spokane, WA
Pay: $20.00/hour (Days) | $20.50/hour (Overnight)
Shifts: Day (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM), Swing (3:30 PM - 11:30 PM), Overnight (11:00 PM - 9:00 AM)
Type: Full-Time & Part-Time

What You'll Do
- Provide direct support to women in our shelter, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with intake and exit procedures, including ensuring proper documentation.
- Document and maintain case notes detailing meaningful interactions and conversations.
- Monitor shelter activities, ensuring a safe and respectful environment at all times.
- Support clients with personal needs, resources, and referrals to services (e.g., housing, employment, healthcare, legal).
- Offer emotional support and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Complete necessary reports, maintain accurate records, and update client information.
- Assist with meal distribution, room checks, and maintaining the cleanliness of common areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a shelter, social services, or related field is an asset.
- Knowledge of issues affecting women, including homelessness, domestic violence, mental health, and substance use.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work various shifts, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Salary : $20 - $21
