Position: Shift Supervisor/Operations Manager
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for facilitating daily shelter operations. Jamaica Women’s Employment Shelter is a transitional shelter for women who are experiencing homelessness and are employed or deemed employable, and; referred by the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS).

Location: 95–10 218th Street • Queens Village, NY 11429
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred plus one-year relevant experience working in a similar capacity in a social service setting.
Must possess good interpersonal skills and basic computer knowledge.
Certifications in security required and Fire Safety (F-80) obtained within 3 months of hire.
Principal Responsibilities:
Supervise delivery of program services including intake, bed assignments, casemanagement services, distribution of client mail, lockers, meal cards and medication
Ensure optimal customer service is being provided to clients.
Ensure recreation activities are occurring.
Ensures the facility is adequately staffed at all times.
Work with DHS PD to ensure the daily security and safety of the facility.
Supervise facility maintenance, cleaning staff and fire safety
Manage community relations and communicate with relevant authorities as needed.
