Volunteers of America Northern New England has a unique part-time opportunity for a Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) at our affordable senior living program in Loudon, NH. The Richard Brown House, located in Loudon, NH, provides 32 apartments of high-quality, affordable housing for people 62 years old and up.
The RSC will work 16 hours/week.
The person that is offered this role may establish a flexible work schedule that consistently remains strictly within the overall required schedule for this position at time of hire.This position is a required on-site only position (no remote days).
Pay rate is $18 or above depending on experience.
The Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for assisting residents to obtain the services they need or want to maintain independence, self-sufficiency, and life satisfaction. The position entails assisting residents in identifying and gaining access to desired services; coordinating community outreach, advocacy, and community-building; and resident problem solving and crisis intervention. The RSC works collaboratively with the Program Manager Housing to promote successful residency.
The successful candidate will have strong computer skills and experience working with MS Outlook, One Drive, MS Word, MS Excel, and experience with MS Teams is helpful.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or another appropriate field is preferred. Any equivalent combination of work experience and training in aging, human or social services, another appropriate field may be acceptable;
2. Knowledge of community support services available to residents of senior and family developments as well as the eligibility requirements for accessing those services;
3. Knowledge of elderly life cycle issues, as well as physical or mental impairments common to the aging process;
4. Experience working with older persons and/or families in a direct service capacity, especially in the areas of advocacy, self-sufficiency, service negotiation, and community building;
5. Ability to listen to and assist residents in defining their problems, to help identify possible solutions and resources, and to establish trusting relationships with residents; individually, and as a group;
6. Ability to develop community-oriented activities that build bridges between people, promote an active interest in the life of the property, and generate resident self-sufficiency;
7. Ability to understand the needs and resources of both the senior and family housing community and the service provider network, facilitating cooperation between those two groups for the benefit of residents;
8. Ability to effectively use computer programs (e.g., word processing, record keeping, and reporting), email, and the Internet in use by the agency as a routine part of daily work activities;
9. The incumbent must maintain all required professional licenses and professional training and also successfully complete other training required by regulation, funding source, or the agency, such as CPR and handling of hazardous materials
