Housing Supervisor (Peaceful Village)
Summary The SIL Supervisor responsible for overseeing the delivery of supervised independent living resident care that promotes the dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, and choice of each tenant, and promoting the philosophy, policies, and protocols of the organization. The SIL Supervisor is also responsible for the supervision of employees, coordination of activities and the management of daily operations of supervised independent living serving people with mental illness. The individual assures that services to tenants meet or exceed expectations and assists the Division Director in development activities and community outreach.

Essential Functions:
- Direct the day-to-day clinical operations of the Supervised Independent Living facility including scheduling staff work hours to assure appropriate coverage for day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts and on-call hours.
- Act as the point person for internal and external communication regarding the housing program.
- Coordinate the delivery of services to clients, guided by the client and involving families, friends, peer groups and community supports
- Leads the organizational staff meetings and treatment planning and coordination of treatment activities to ensure immediate attention to their changing needs.
- Provides weekly staff supervision to mental health tech staff.
- Direct and coordinate the client admission process and treatment, rehabilitation, and support services of the program in coordination with the Division Director and VOA Treatment Team. Schedule the admission interview; develop and coordinate the initial assessment.
- Participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, and policies and collective bargaining agreements; develop and implement staff orientation and training; and manage student training.
- Supervise client records management assuring maintenance of the client record in compliance with agency policies, train staff on record requirements; regularly review client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes written by the staff; and supervise individual staff for records mastery.
- Carry out and document quality-assurance activities and reviews of use of program services.
- Initiate and maintain relationships, in coordination with other staff, with law-enforcement and other human services agencies, and with informal community resources (e.g., landlords, employers). Collaborates with community partners to maximize successful housing opportunities for clients.
- Perform on-call duty for crisis intervention and for staff supervision and consultation.
- Maintains and submits proof of active auto liability insurance for privately-owned vehicles used to conduct agency business and/or transport agency clients. Employees must submit proof of insurance prior to employment and each time policy is renewed thereafter. Failure to maintain active coverage and submit proof may result in disciplinary action.
- Responsible for weekly contact(s) with clients in order to satisfy licensure and or program requirements.

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes
Required Education and Experience: Housing Supervisor requires at least a bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychiatric rehabilitation, psychology, or human services field. Supervisory and program management experience is desirable. The person in this position must have a clear understanding of the characteristics and problems of adults with severe and persistent mental illness and be knowledgeable about working directly with the population. The position also requires the frequent use of decision making skills with the ability to exercise consistently sound judgment. Must work well without direct supervision and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines. Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets required.
