GENERAL FUNCTION:
We are looking for a compassionate and approachable Cold Weather Shelter Van Greeter to support our van driver in providing safe and welcoming transportation for individuals experiencing homelessness during cold weather. The Van Greeter will assist with client interactions, ensuring a positive and respectful environment throughout the transportation process. The Van Greeter will ride along with the Van Driver to transport clients from Lynnwood City Hall, James Village, and by the Bank of America on Hwy 99 and 173rd street to Maple Park Church. These locations may be subject to change.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
- Welcome individuals as they board the van, ensuring a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
- Provide information about the cold weather shelter, including rules and available resources.
- Help clients with their belongings and ensure they are seated safely during the ride.
- Maintain a calm and respectful demeanor, addressing any questions or concerns from passengers.
- Work closely with the van driver to ensure smooth operations and timely pick-ups/drop-offs.
- Communicate effectively with the driver regarding client needs and any issues that arise.
- Monitor the well-being of clients during transit and provide support as needed.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the driver or shelter staff promptly.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of passenger counts and any relevant client information
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience working with diverse populations, especially those experiencing homelessness, is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of local streets and routes is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to perform a range of physical motions including, but not limited:
- Frequently sits for extended periods while performing desktop activities.
- Repetitively uses hands and wrists on computers and telephone.
- Dependable transportation.
- Abide by all COVID safety requirements when performing duties in the office.
- Ability to assist clients in getting in and out of the vehicle.
- Able to sit, stand, bend and lift 30 lbs.
Salary : $20 - $21
