General Function:

The Operations Director is pivotal in ensuring the Dispute Resolution Center's seamless and efficient function. This key position entails overseeing daily operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of dispute resolution services, DRC training, and unwavering support for our mission of delivering accessible, high-quality conflict resolution services and training to the community. We seek an individual with exceptional emotional intelligence and a steadfast commitment to servant leadership principles.

Principal Activities:

  • Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations of the Dispute Resolution Center. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Resource Management: Develop, allocate and manage resources, including staff, volunteers, and budget, to meet the center's goals and objectives. Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure the delivery of effective dispute resolution services. Monitor and assess service outcomes and client feedback to make improvements.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers. Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment. Provide guidance, training and support to enhance team performance and productivity.
  • Program Support: Collaborate with program managers, supervisors, and volunteers to facilitate the scheduling and coordination of training, mediation, and conflict resolution services. Collaborate with the Executive Director on the development of strategic initiatives and be accountable for the tactical deliverables and successful implementation of these projects.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records and data related to dispute resolution cases and organizational operations. Generate reports and analyses as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Community Engagement: Act as a liaison between the Dispute Resolution Center and external partners, such as community organizations, government agencies, and funders. Participate in outreach and awareness activities to promote the center's services.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage the center's budget, ensuring responsible financial stewardship. Collaborate with the executive director and development department on seeking and managing funding opportunities, grants, and donations to support the organization's financial sustainability.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and grant requirements. Prepare and submit regular reports to the executive director and funders.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read, speak, stand, walk, sit and use a computer keyboard and monitor.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.

  • Must be able to drive or have reliable transportation for off-site meetings and events.
  • May be required to lift items up to 30 lbs. consistent with a regular office environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, nonprofit management, public administration) 3 years of experience or in lieu of degree, a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work professionally and collaboratively with all staff.
  • Proven ability to lead as a positive role model and servant leader, and to effectively direct and support staff. Create and maintain trusting relationships with internal staff in the program as well as within VOAWW as a whole.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting planning
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Qualifications:

  • Strong servant leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of dispute resolution and conflict management principles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to dispute resolution services in Washington State.
  • Proficiency in office software and database management.
  • Effectively utilize the organization’s HRIS tools for employee data management, recruitment, performance management, time and attendance and reporting. Expects the same from all supervisors of staff in the program.
