JOB OVERVIEW
Under supervision, the Paint Line Operator, safely and efficiently, loads equipment for the processing/painting of raw materials. Work safely when performing duties and always aware of where your coworkers are.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare raw materials for productions runs and verify materials match with the customer order requirements and production schedule
- Connect raw material (metal) through a stitching process
- Visually inspect coils to identify defects (marks, dents, scratches, etc.) in raw materials and finished products
- Work as a team to complete production set ups to ensure an efficient changeover from job to job
- Package coils to customer requirements (paper, cardboard, shrink wrap, etc.). This may include driving a forklift or helping the forklift driver
- Ensure that finished goods are properly and safely stacked both on the forklift and in the warehouse
- Keeping a work area that is clean and safe through the removal of production scrap and packaging scrap by disposing of the waste in a timely fashion and placing the waste in the proper receptacles
- Participate in safety and other training programs as required
- Works with crew members during production downtime on projects as defined by management
- Breaks are unscheduled and machinery must be always attended
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, it is necessary to understand basic measurement and mathematics when using a calculator, and a comfort level with computers as some data entry or data lookup is required.
- Forklift Experience preferred but not required
- Exposure to production environment preferred
- Reliable transportation is mandatory
- English and Spanish speaking - REQUIRED
