The HSE Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all federal, state, and local environmental and OSHA regulations. This includes developing policies, conducting audits, and managing programs related to air quality, waste management, water conservation, pollution control, SDS program, chemical labeling and Shipping and Safety. The HSE Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the company operates in an environmentally and safe responsible manner.
Your responsibilities as the HSE Compliance Manager:

- Monitor changes in environmental laws and regulations (EPA, OSHA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.) and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an environmental compliance program.
- Develop corrective actions and oversee the implementation of solutions to address environmental risks and compliance issues.
- Develop and promote environmental sustainability programs that reduce waste, conserve energy, and minimize the environmental impact of the organization.
- Ensure that all staff members understand the organization’s environmental policies and their role in ensuring compliance.
- Investigate regulated incidents such as spills, contamination, or regulatory breaches.
- Prepare incident reports for regulatory agencies as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, legal, and engineering, to integrate environmental considerations into business processes.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management and regulatory bodies regarding the company’s environmental performance.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for potential environmental hazards.
- Ensure the organization is prepared to respond effectively to environmental emergencies such as chemical spills or natural disasters.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental permits, incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
- Work with government agencies, contractors, and third-party auditors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid future incidents.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees regarding environmental compliance, policies, and best practices.
- Track key environmental metrics such as carbon footprint, water usage, and waste generation.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and areas for improvement.
- Apply for and manage environmental permits and ensure all required reports and documentation are submitted to regulatory bodies on time.
- Specifically coordinating with all facilities and operations to have proper environmental permits etc.
What we need from you (our requirements):

- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or related fields.
- Expertise in environmental management systems (EMS)
- Ability to develop and implement effective environmental policies.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage complex environmental reports and records.
- Excellent communication and training skills to educate staff on environmental issues.
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessments and environmental audits.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Work Environment:

- Primarily office-based with up to 50% regional travel for site visits, regulatory meetings, conferences, or training sessions and other business-related activities.
- Occasional exposure to environmental hazards during site assessments.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday and includes shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - Flexibility is required as job duties demand.
