Position Summary:
The Conflicts Attorney is responsible for assisting with the review and identification of potential conflicts issues with respect to clients, matters, and new business firm wide. The Conflicts Attorney will actively follow-up on conflicts clearance with all responsible parties handling new engagements and will conduct thorough, daily reviews of firm conflicts of interest reports, resolving any identified issues on a timely basis. The Conflicts Attorney works closely with the firm’s Ethical Questions Committee, the Conflicts Department, and with the Rates, Fees and Engagements Committee.

Essential Functions:
- Review and provide thorough and timely analysis of firm new engagement information in order to identify ethical and business conflicts of interest. Utilize available internal and external databases, and communicate with Partners, other lawyers, and business services colleagues to follow up on all potential conflicts of interest. See all conflicts of interest issues through to final resolution including drafting of waivers or other documentation for Partner review.
- Help establish appropriate process and procedures for conflicts review outlined above.
- Review and provide thorough and timely analysis of all outside counsel guidelines and communicate with Partners and business services colleagues to resolve potential issues.
- Proactively communicate with members of Ethical Questions Committee on complex conflicts questions and other compliance issues.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and current records of all conflicts resolutions in database to ensure integrity of the database and to assist in the identification and clearing of future conflicts of interest including Investigate and resolve erroneous, outdated, or otherwise incomplete data on conflicts reports and ensure corrections are made in the database and in other records to ensure integrity of information.

- 1 - 3 years of experience in similar field.
- 5 years of experience, with a minimum 2 years of conflicts experience or equivalent preferred.
- Licensed to Practice in Ohio.
