What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equity Research Analyst position at Voyant Advisors LLC?

We are seeking to hire a sell-side equity research analyst. Responsibilities include financial statement analysis of public companies, financial modeling, writing research, client consulting, and maintaining client relationships. The equity research analyst will work with the team to identify and analyze public companies for research coverage. The analyst will hold primary responsibility for companies under their coverage universe.
This position is a great opportunity for candidates looking to transition from accounting to finance and/or interested in entering the finance field for the first time. All analysts are generalists and are exposed to a variety of companies and industries. We are a small company with big clients, thus analysts will have autonomy and the opportunity to make a significant impact from day one.
We offer a competitive compensation package (base salary plus bonus, compensation between $55,000 – $70,000 plus bonus, commensurate with experience). Desired Skills and Experience
Beyond any other skill or experience this position requires critical thinking, attention to detail, a self-starter mentality, and a desire to learn. The position requires considerable familiarity with financial accounting. Candidates should also have significant interest in/understanding of capital markets. Candidates must be self-motivated problem solvers with the ability to work independently. Strong math, writing, and verbal skills are required. Ideal candidates include the following:
- 0 to 3 years of experience
- CPA’s with auditing and/or consulting experience (Big 4 experience is highly valued).
- Recent Bachelor’s finance or accounting graduates with exceptional academic track record.
- Recent Master’s finance or accounting graduates with exceptional academic track record.
- CFA’s/CFA candidates with undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in accounting, finance, and/or economics (academic coursework in intermediate financial accounting is required).
- Investment professionals (academic coursework in intermediate financial accounting is required).
